A Panamanian-American, and native of Katy, Texas, Nicole Magallón is a vocalist exceptionally versed in opera, jazz, and musical theatre in Manhattan, NY.

Nicole is a professionally trained operatic soprano singing all over New York City in the styles of jazz in warm tones, musical theatre, and contemporary popular music.

She is known to seamlessly transition from her lyric operatic sound to jazz and golden age, to contemporary musical theatre and pop/soul music.

In her time in Lubbock, Texas, she was awarded first place in the Texas Tech University Concerto Competition in February 2019 and performed her winning piece with the Texas Tech Symphony Orchestra on November 22nd in Hemmle Recital Hall. She was also in collaboration with Maestro David Cho of the Lubbock Symphony performing private concerts in the city.

Her most recent roles include Hildegard’s “Mouth” with Mannes Opera, Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, and Pitti-Sing in The Mikado with the Texas Tech Opera Theatre, as well as Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors. Equally at home in concert work, Nicole has appeared in various masterworks concerts as a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus as well as a soloist in Poulenc’s Gloria in 2015. Nicole has appeared as a Young and Emerging Artist with Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico, Music in the Marche in Italy, and the Berlin Opera Academy in Berlin, Germany.

Over the years, she’s worked closely with the world-renowned, spectacular, mezzo-soprano, Susan Graham, Rebecca Wasco-Hayes and the incredible and incomparable, Diana Soviero. She’s also had the opportunity to be featured by great jazz artists like the great Johnny O’Neal and Ben Patterson at NYC’s famous jazz club, Mezzrow.

Under the tutelage of Diana Soviero and Chelsea Buonagura, she realized her love for other genres of vocal art and was ensured that she could in fact pursue all avenues.
